Since the covers for the Walnut Steamy romance novel series were a bit buried in the last recap, I thought I’d share them in a separate post. Once again, apologies to Elaine Duillo, Max Ginsburg and Robert McGinnis, and a very special thank-you to Gardenia Sky and her wonderful illustrator Lars Wilkie for allowing us to share art from their collaborations.

On the cover of “The Devil and Mrs. Foster” is Jack Lilley, (he has a black hair & mustache) he took care of the animals and is seen frequently in the background of many episodes. He just recently died. RIP Jack.

Difficult choice, but I’m going with “Popcorn at Midnight”. There’s just something innocent & yet seductive at the same time about that title.😉📚

The cover art for “Popcorn at Midnight” seemed a little familiar. I’m embarrassed to say that I remembered I read the book you based it on, “Fires of Winter” by Johanna Lindsey! When I was in my late teens / early 20’s I read a number of “bodice rippers”. The plots were all pretty similar, what would change was the location and time period. That specific one was set in Scandinavia at the time of the Vikings.
So funny I remembered!

I haven’t read many romance novels, but no need ever to be embarrassed of guilty pleasures. I loved Tor horror paperbacks myself in the eighties. It was always a thrill when my mom would agree to buy one for me in the supermarket checkout line. 🙂
I looked at about a zillion Johanna Lindsey covers to decide what to work with. There were so many good ones, but ultimately I went with the ones I could find that didn’t have lettering over them (which would have been a pain to remove). Very silly, but I had so much fun with them. 😀
